* It is my most popular plant for green fertilization
Phacelia is a fast growing annual honeybee crop.

If it is planted in April - it blooms from May to September.
It is applicable to summer and autumn sowing.

It has no related species among the crops and thus is an important intermediate crop.
I take turns phacelia, buckwheat, clover-corn mix, melilotus albus and potatoes.

It tolerates light soils and drier areas. It germinates even in drier
conditions. It likes sunny places. We can grow it even in higher
altitudes.
It shades the soil well and prevents vaporization.
It has very good weeding ability.
After flowering it serves like green manure. It increases content of
humus in the soil, improves the physical properties of the soil
and microbiological activities.
Seeding on slopes it can also be used as an erosion control
crop - it is left in fields during the winter time and in spring you can sow grains or corn for silage on phacelia field.
Bumblebees are very happy when having phacelia …
they are blessed in the field and that is why we have in the garden not only beautiful "buzzing", but also pollinated fruits.
Bumblebee hous “Čmelín” is a new decoration of our garden…
… I attach some photos from spring cleaning.
